Opito has appointed a new director to strengthen links with the oil and gas industry, schools and universities.
Skills development director Morven Spalding will co-ordinate collaboration as the sector tries to counter a skills shortage.
Her appointment follows the announcement by Opito that it is to invest £1.2million annually to tackle the current fragmented approach to attracting the thousands of new entrants required in the energy industry every year.
Ms Spalding, who has worked for oilfield service firm Aker Solutions and life sciences company LifeScan in the past, said: “The skills needs within the oil and gas industry are changing and Opito is evolving in order to help drive the sector into a new era.”
