EY Aberdeen has appointed a new tax partner, Niall Blacklaw, who will head up its oil and gas indirect tax team.
Since joining EY in 1995, Blacklaw has been responsible for growing the indirect tax practice and is responsible for providing advice essential to the oil and gas sector on the full range of indirect taxes (VAT, customs and excise duty).
His clients cover the full gamut of the industry’s supply chain… from exploration and production through to commodity trading and his portfolio includes some of the largest FTSE 100 and privately-owned companies operating in the sector.
Commenting on his appointment, Blacklaw said: “Making partner was recognition of the growing need to support our clients locally as the global search for oil and gas continues.
“The team I have built has been tremendous and without them this appointment would not have been possible. The continuing buoyancy of the sector will provide our team with exciting challenges ahead. ”
