Ramboll Oil and Gas has appointed its first Aberdeen managing director.
Tim Martin – who has 19 years’ experience in engineering in the sector – will oversee daily operations from Aberdeen, reporting to headquarters in Denmark. With a background in civil and structural engineering after graduating from the University of Aberdeen, his role includes developing a growth plan for the branch to deliver engineering capabilities for both the oil and gas and renewables industry.
Mr Martin said: “It is very exciting to join the company at a time when it is embarking on a period of growth in the UK, and to be tasked with developing the capabilities of the Aberdeen office as it moves forward under new ownership.”
The appointment comes after the Danish firm bought over Apply Altra earlier this year, which helped establish the company’s presence in the UK market.
Trond Helland Bynes, executive director added: “Following the acquisition, it was important for us to take stock and take time to ensure that we made the right appointment to spearhead our operations in the UK. We believe that we have found that person in Tim Martin, who comes with an exceptional track record.”
Mr Martin has worked on a engineering projects including greenfield and brownfield developments from the initial stages to commissioning, as well as with similar companies in West Africa.
