Aquamarine Power has appointed John Malcolm as its chief executive officer.
John Malcolm will take helm at of the wave energy company on October 15. Mr Malcolm has 25 years’ experience in the industry which includes acting as managing director of Petroleum Development Oman and general manager of of Al Furat Petroleum. He joins the team as the company begins operational testing on its Oyster 800 project.
Commenting on the appointment he said: “I am looking forward to working closely with Aquamarine Power’s team of talented engineers, our Board and shareholders to plot the next steps in our company’s journey.”
Mr Malcolm replaces Martin McAdam, who is stepping down from the post after six and a half years. He said: “Every business must go through a process of renewal and I feel now is a suitable point to hand the baton into John’s very experienced and capable hands.”
