The OGA (Oil and Gas Authority) has strengthened its board with the appointment of three new non-executive directors.
Sir Patrick Brown, the chairman of the industry regulator, has approved Frances Morris-Jones, Robert Armour and Mary Hardy in the roles.
Last month the OGA revealed it had completed the first phase of a £20million seismic campaign in the UKCS.
Mary Hardy, who is also the chair of the OGA Audit and Risk Committee, trained an became an audit partner at Ernst and Young, before moving in-house and becoming group audit director for Diageo.
As well as her role on the OGA board, Hardy is also a non-executive director on the board of the Royal Navy and chairs its audit committee.
France Morris-Jones has more than 30 years’ experience in the energy sector, predominantly in oil and gas.
She started her career at BP and has also held a development leadership role in ConocoPhillips.
Morris-Jones has had a number of non-executive roles in the public sector and is a member of the Standards Policy and Strategy Committee of BSI Group and a governor of the University of
Portsmouth, where she sits on the Audit and Quality Committee and Ethics Committee.
Meanwhile Robert Armour is a solicitor with 30 years’ experience in the energy sector, starting in private practice before becoming General Counsel at Scottish Nuclear and British Energy Group plc.
He is currently deputy chair of NuGen, Chair of Smarter Grid Solutions and non-executive director of Albion Community Power plc and The Nuclear Liabilities Fund and Senior Counsel at Gowlings UK LLP.
