Scatec has started operating a 22MW photovoltaic plant in Jordan.
The facility is the third solar plant for the company in the country.
The facility is about 225km south of Amman and is expected to generate more than 52,000MWh of electricity per year.
It will take the Norwegian developer’s installed capacity in Jordan to 43MW.
At the moment, Scatec said it owns 50.1% of the solar park and its local partner European Jordanian Renewable Energy holds the balance.
The plant also benefits from a 20-year power purchase agreement with state-owned utility NEPCO.
