Setting up in a new overseas location can be complex and costly but, most significantly, time-consuming at a point when the business should be focusing on its customers. The G-Tech Innovation Centre in Katy, close to Houston’s Energy Corridor, offers fully-serviced co-working industrial and office space in a custom built 48,000 square foot facility which has been home to several UK companies since it opened in 2014.
Owner, Andy Grieve, moved to Houston “temporarily” in 2005 to establish the US subsidiary of his Aberdeen-based business, Hampco, but now has dual citizenship.
“Having been through the many unforeseen challenges in setting up the business in Houston, we established G-Tech as an option for other businesses locating here to speed up, simplify and reduce their risk. We operate with simple short-term service agreements from as little as three months and offer a full range of support for any company unfamiliar with operating here,” he said.
Stowen, a multi-disciplined turnkey service company with headquarters in Great Yarmouth set up their US Corporate HQ at G-Tech in 2016.
Sandy Mottram, Owner & VP, originally from Aberdeen said: “We are quickly breaking into the Americas and New Markets, G-Tech has provided convenient, flexible workshop and office facilities in a great location without the risk and burden of finding and managing our own.”
He added “We value the convenience of being able to add space at G-tech as we need whilst we remain focused on our growth, we also have the luxury of adding a full on-site, asset management, fabrication, manufacturing, overhaul and repair facility with the needed space, access and handling capability’s on hand as operations dictates”
