A collaborative forum designed to encourage cross-sector knowledge sharing has been deemed a success as the energy sector continues its focus on digital transformation.
Over 60 delegates from the oil and gas, renewable and marine industries, joined forces at the ONE Tech Hub in Aberdeen for the user forum, organised by Aberdeen-based technology company, Solab.
The event, dubbed ‘Crewing & Cocktails’, saw industry leaders from across the UK, US and Norway, unite to share knowledge and best practice on Solab’s Onboard Tracker, an energy and renewables focused crew management software that has been transforming the industry.
The modular web-based software as a service (SaaS) platform manages the safe and efficient crewing of tens of thousands of energy, renewables and maritime personnel across the globe.
Kevin Coll, Solab’s managing director said: “The user forum presented a unique opportunity for Onboard Tracker, clients to come together to have their say in shaping the product’s roadmap with the goal of helping us identify and refine the next generation of features for the software.
“Our clients are actively encouraged to get involved in how Onboard Tracker evolves to meet the needs of their businesses and we are grateful to all who attended for their input, engagement and insight.”
The software’s explosive growth now sees its client’s tracking crews in over 70 countries, across 70% of the UKCS manned rigs and almost 30% of global dive support vessels.
“The feedback we have received from the user forum has been outstanding, and our teams are now busier than ever working to implement the great ideas and functionality shown on the day,” continued Kevin.
“It was great to see the passion and engagement from all sides and a genuine commitment to work together to ensure Onboard Tracker builds on its position as the one crew management, certification and competence system for the energy, marine and renewable industries.”
By harnessing both deep industry knowledge and technological experience, Solab has continued to develop the integrated platform in step with the dynamic needs of the subsea and wider energy industry.
