Amec Foster Wheeler has become the sole UK member of the European association for nuclear safety bodies.
The engineering firm has joined the European Technical Safety Organisation Network (ETSON).
ETSON aims to develop and promote best practices in nuclear safety assessment, contributing to the harmonisation of nuclear safety practices and fostering dialogue with nuclear safety authorities across Europe.
Greg Willetts, Vice President of Amec Foster Wheeler’s Clean Energy business, said: “Membership represents a significant opportunity to collaborate with European counterparts to enhance standards of nuclear safety in Europe and beyond.
“For our UK regulator customers it means we can bring best practice and latest innovations in effective regulation to them.”
Amec Foster Wheeler’s independent regulatory support directorate team joins other independent technical safety organisations from 10 countries in Europe along with associated members from across the world.
