A Netherley-based power turbine firm has invested £50,000 in a new 3D measuring tool.
Alba Power said its new FaroArm would save time and money as part of its machinery shop expansion.
Chris Field, the firm’s production manager said: “We decided to look for a measuring technology that would both enhance our accuracy capability and further increase our inspection throughput speed and have been delighted with the results of the FaroArm.
“Following an intense training period, our team of inspectors were able to quickly understand the FaroArm’s uses.”
The firm, which has offices in Stonehaven, Houston and Stanford, North Carolina, said further investment in its tool shop brought repair and development of special tooling parts in house, having previously outsourced the work.
Managing Director, Terry Alderton said: “We feel that this investment will reinforce Alba Power’s commitment to growth, client servicing and being the leading experts in the industry, especially at this difficult time within the industry.”
