Tekmar Energy has landed a deal with Dong Energy for its Race Bank offshore windfarm.
The site, located 16.8 miles off the coast of North Norfolk, covers an area of around 75km² and has a capacity of up to 580MW or enough energy to power 500,000 homes a year.
The deal includes the supply of 189 cable protection systems (CPS).
Tekmar’s Jack Simpson said the deal was an “endorsement of the North-east of England’s energy credentials”.
He said: “The region’s supply chain is starting to earn a reputation through increasing industry demand for the engineering, manufacturing and specialist capabilities that are rooted here.”
