SBM Offshore has won a contract with EDF for work on a pilot floating windfarm for its Provence Grand Large project.
The company will provide its proprietary floating systems solution for offhsore wind turbines.
The win comes after the French government announced earlier this month it had selected the EDF Energies Nouvelles (EDF EN) proposal.
The project will benefit from the ADEME financing scheme, as part of the French government’s support and plan for renewable energy projects.
In a statement, SBM added that the project is subject to achieving committed financing, which would result in a contract to include engineering, procurement, construction and installation services for three floating systems to be installed offshore France.
