A summer festival designed to show off the north-east as a scenic spot to set up renewable energy projects is to continue for a fifth year.
Energetica kicks off next month with a programme of events including a bushcraft course at Haddo House, a wildlife tour of the Bullers of Buchan and a countryside walk with a local ranger.
The majority of the events are free of charge and the aim is to attract families and outdoor enthusiasts to Aberdeenshire.
The initiative includes dozens of activities which the Energetica team believe showcase the very best of the “coastal corridor” between Aberdeen and Peterhead.
The programme runs from May to August.
Energetica development manager James Welsh said: “Now in its fifth year, we’re excited to deliver another summer festival alongside our partners and supporting organisations.
“It’s a chance to showcase the bountiful wildlife and selfie-worthy backdrops we have to boast about in the north-east of Scotland.”
Mr Welsh said the Buchan coast is booming because infrastructure is improving and new houses and businesses are being built.
He added: “The summer festival captures the essence of this.”
Visit Aberdeenshire’s Nikki Morris-Laing added: “Aberdeen is known for being an energy hub, but the region has so much more to offer, and the Energetica summer festival helps to highlight the rich cultural offering we have here in the north-east of Scotland.”
The Energetica corridor scheme was announced a decade ago and aims to advertise the 30-mile stretch of Aberdeenshire as a location of choice for renewable energy projects and firms.
Jointly backed by Scottish Enterprise and both Aberdeen City and Aberdeenshire councils, the Energetica team promote quality of life and sustainable growth in communities including Peterhead, Cruden Bay, Collieston and Peterhead.
The majority of the festival events are free to attend but organisers say booking is essential as places are limited.
