An innovative Dutch artist aiming to show the beauty of clean energy has put on a light show using green lasers entitled “WINDLICHT”, which simply translates as: wind light.
Daan Roosegaarde wanted to show the beauty and invisibility of green energy with this light show, inspired by the Dutch village of Kinderdijk, a popular tourist attraction due to its 19 monumental windmills built in 1740 as a means to get rid of excess water.
Roosegaarde said of the project: “Green energy. Everyone wants it, but not in their backyard. An odd thing for a country known for its picturesque windmills dating from the 18th century. How can we once again give green energy the allure it deserves?”
