Scottish marine power firm Atlantis Resources has appointed a new chief finance officer.
Atlantis is the developer of MeyGen, which is located in the Pentland Firth and is one of the largest tidal arrays under construction anywhere in the world.
Andrew Dagley, current head of corporate finance, will step into the role being vacated by Simon Counsell at the end of this month.
Mr Counsell joined Atlantis in 2015 and spearheaded the finance team’s relocation from Singapore to Edinburgh.
He has decided to step down to pursue other business interests.
Mr Dagley joined Atlantis from IFM Investors prior to the renewables firm’s listing on the London Stock Exchange in 2014.
Atlantis chief executive Tim Cornelius said: “I would like to thank Simon for his support and hard work over the last two years as we have transitioned the finance department from Singapore to Edinburgh, where he has built a highly competent team. On behalf of the Board, I would like to thank Simon for his efforts and wish him the very best for his future endeavours.
“I am delighted that Andrew will have the opportunity to join the operations board as CFO. Andrew joined Atlantis in 2014 and has been an integral part of the team since then. He worked on the IPO, the acquisition of Marine Current Turbines from Siemens AG and the financial close of MeyGen Phase 1A. He brings a wealth of experience in global renewable energy generation and we all look forward to working with him as we continue to build on Atlantis’s successes.”
