The two organisations agree to a 50/50 joint venture which will look to build three of four Dogger Bank offshore windfarms off the coast of Yorkshire.
Once completed the fields will generate a total capacity of 4.8GW.
Statoil and SSE will work together on the Dogger Bank Creyke Beck A, Dogger Bank Creyke Beck B and Dogger Bank Teesside A, which total 3.6GW.
The remaining project, Dogger Bank Teesside B will be progressed by innogy
