Announcing a lease agreement with Scottish Enterprise, The Renewables Consulting Group (RGC) has established a new office in Glasgow.
Housed in the inovo building within the east side of the city centre the new office is situated at the heart of the International Technology and Renewable Energy Zone.
The location itself is co-located with businesses and academia, such as the University of Strathclyde, in a grouping committed to stimulating innovation and investment in Scotland’s offshore renewable energy sector.
RGC have stated that they aim to establish a substantial renewable energy expert service in Scotland within a five year timeframe.
Sebastian Chivers, Chief Executive Officer, RCG, said: “The move is reflective of RCG’s continued organic growth, the firm’s successful business model, and our commitment to be closer to RCG’s numerous clients in Scotland. This is a really exciting time for the business and we are delighted to add Glasgow to our list of global strategic offices.”
Paul Lewis, Managing Director of Scottish Development International, said: “With great connections to renewable energy markets, Scotland is a growing location for inward investment in low carbon energy and technology. It’s fantastic this has been recognised by RCG in its decision to locate in Glasgow, as it joins many other international investors which recognise the strength of our people, our competitive business infrastructure and effective support network.”
“Our ambitions are bold, with scope to recruit a team of 20-30 expert consultants.” commented Dan Pearson, Managing Director for Europe at RCG. “Scotland’s political desire to grow renewable energy as a core vision for the future, together with a fantastic talent pool, has given RCG the confidence to build a team based in Scotland serving local clients and customers worldwide.”
