Scottish solar manufacturer and installation firm AES Solar has announced a collaboration with Phase Energy Limited, an electric vehicle (EV) and battery storage system company.
The partnership will see Phase Energy move into the Scottish renewable energy marketplace while working with AES to develop solar, battery storage and EV charging solutions.
Just last month AES Solar, headquarters in Forres, announced that it would be opening an Edinburgh office in order to service a contract demand need in the Central Belt of Scotland.
George Goudsmit, AES Solar’s Managing Director explained: “Phuse has a massive network across England and they need to branch out into Scotland. There is a very clear relationship between having EV, Solar PV and battery storage and by working together we can offer all these things to both of our networks of customers. It is collaboration working at its best.”
Chris Roberts, Director of Phuse Energy Ltd said “We’re excited to be partnering with AES Solar because of their long-established reputation serving Scotland and the additional technical expertise they bring to the group. We also have a shared vision of how EV, solar and batteries will converge through intelligent communication between devices”.
AES Solar said that they expect the Scottish Government’s announcement to hit its 2032 target to phase out petrol and diesel cars to change the marketplace, provoking this partnership.
George explained: “AES Solar fully backs the Scottish Government’s plans to replace vehicles powered by fossil fuels with electric alternatives and this is why we have sought a way to ensure that our customers can get the full package from our team.
“However, we do think that people should be forward thinking and plan now by installing solar panels, battery storage and electric charging points. Solar panels generate an additional income in the home for up to 30 years whilst offsetting electricity prices. This, in turn, could help the customer buy their first electric vehicle when the time comes.
“The appetite for electric vehicles is gathering pace and the drive from the Scottish Government will undoubtedly change the buying habits of consumers very quickly.”
