Property consultant Bidwells said yesterday its Inverness office turned over more than £500,000 last year, thanks to success in the forestry and renewable-energy sectors.
The company said turnover from its north business increased by 35% in 2011 and added it was hoping for further growth this year.
Clive Meikle, who joined Bidwells as a partner in Inverness last year, said the Highland team’s performance was down to further work with its estate-management clients and new business in forestry, agriculture and renewables.
Mr Meikle said highlights of the year included facilitating the lease of part of Nigg Yard to Global Energy Group in October.
He added: “That was a good demonstration of the type and size of deal our commercial team has been involved in.”
“Bidwells is mostly known in the north as an estate manager but Nigg was a great example of the breadth of our services.”
Mr Meikle also said timber sales were an increasingly important part of the business and had brought in £750,000 in the past six months.
Bidwells, which employs eight people in Inverness and more than 40 people in total at its Perth and Fort William offices, is hoping for another year of double-digit growth in 2012.
Mr Meikle said: “Our forecast for 2012 is that our workload will be a mix of the rural estate management that we have a good name for as well as providing a wide variety of professional advice.”
