Danish fabricator Bladt Industries has shipped the last of the jackets destined for Beatrice Offshore Wind Farm.
Heading toward the Moray Firth, the last of the remaining jackets for the 84 turbine wind development left Bladt’s yard yesterday.
Bladt has provided 30 of the 70 meter jackets, each weighing nearly 1000 tonnes.
Beatrice offshore wind farm is due to be fully operational in 2019.
In May, Scottish energy minister Paul Wheelhouse announced a Moray Firth wind development contract between Beatrice Offshore Wind Farm and Scottish firm Windhoist Group at All-Energy conference in Glasgow.
The deal, confirmed to be over £2million, will see Windhoist provide turbine pre-assembly to the SSE Beatrice Offshore wind project.
Contracted by Siemens Gamesa Renewable Energy, the deal will see over 40 local jobs sustained for the 10 month period of the project.
