The Offshore Renewable (ORE) Energy Catapult has today announced the appointment to its board of former Repsol UK head, Ronnie Bonnar.
Mr Bonnar will join the board as a non-executive director effective 1 January 2019.
Replacing Alan Moore, who will step down from the ORE Catapult board having served as a non-executive director since the formation of the business in 2013, Mr Bonnar previously served as Repsol Nuevas Energias UK General Manager.
ORE Catapult Chairman Colin Hood said, “Ronnie Bonnar’s extensive experience in developing some of the most advanced offshore wind farms in the world, and his leadership within the broader renewable energy sector, will bring considerable benefit to ORE Catapult’s board.
“I want to thank Alan Moore for his very significant contribution to ORE Catapult. As one of the pioneers of large scale offshore wind in the UK, Alan has provided invaluable insight and expertise to both the Board and the management team, and played a major role in developing the business into the effective innovation leader that it is today”.
Mr Bonnar said: “The UK’s continued progress in developing offshore renewable energy technologies requires innovation throughout the supply chain, capturing the lessons from other sectors and developing new and better ways of working.
“The Catapult has a leading role to play in driving that innovation, and I look forward to supporting the Board and the management team over the coming years”.
