Coal towers at Longannet, Scotland’s last coal-fired power station, have been demolished on behalf of ScottishPower.
The firm has released footage from its contractor, Brown and Mason, showing the controlled explosion.
Demolition work at the plant is ongoing and 28,000 tonnes of material have so far been recovered.
ScottishPower said more than 98% has been recycled.
Last month, the firm said it was switching to 100% wind power generation following a £702m asset sale.
Earlier this month, Scottish Renewables said coal power should be consigned “to the dustbin of history” in order to meet climate and health targets.
