Offshore service firm Boskalis has agreed a deal to acquire the cable installation arm of Bohlen Doyen (BoDo).
The Dutch firm bought BoDo’s cable laying business alongside laying business operations comprise of grid to grid and offshore substation to shore connections
The deal includes the installation of (nearshore) offshore cables and the connection of offshore wind farms to substations.
Earlier this month, Boskalis announced a £98 million deal to lay inter-array cabling sat the giant Moray East Windfarm project.
Granted consent in 2014, the windfarm will be built in agreement by developers EDP Renewables, Diamond Generating Europe and Engie.
According to Boskalis, the scope the transaction includes the acquisition of the equipment, burial tools, personnel plus several smaller commercial and maintenance contracts.
The deal also includes three large cable laying barges with capacities ranging from 800 to 4,000 metric tons.
