Aberdeen City Council has successfully argued that an multi-million action brought against it should be thrown out of court.
The £8 million claim against it related to a solar energy scheme dating back to 2017.
The case, brought by solar firm Our Generation, was today dismissed by Edinburgh’s Court of Session.
The company argued that Aberdeen City Council entered into an agreement for solar installations to be fitted to council-owned buildings.
But Our Generation claimed that the council then pulled out of those contracts.
It said the council was liable for £8m and the removal of solar equipment.
Presiding on the case, Lady Wolffe told the Court of Session she believed the termination notice to be invalid, adding that “the party who sent that notice can terminate the site
agreement with immediate effect”.
