A north-east renewable energy project has announced it has hit a generation milestone of one million kilowatt hours (KWh).
Donside hydro scheme, a community-operated hydro-electric project in Aberdeen, turns the currents from the city’s River Don into power.
Aberdeen Community Energy (ACE) opened the site in 2016.
The hydro scheme, which is selling electricity to the national grid, is expected to generate many thousands of pounds for a community fund together with enough electricity to power the equivalent of around 130 homes every year.
