STATOIL is divesting the bulk of its onshore wind power activities in Norway and is to focus its renewables capability primarily offshore, where it has a considerable grip on technology and projects.
The company is selling its 50% interest in Sarepta Energi to Trønder Energi Kraft and, in a separate deal, the Norwegian semi-state petroleum company is disposing of wind power projects in Finnmark, comprising Arctic Wind AS and the three projects Hamnefjell, Båtsfjordfjellet and Snefjord, to Finnmark Kraft.
The company is also pressing ahead with its offshore programme and offshore turbine development.
