A delegation of potential multi-million pound investors and wind farm equipment manufacturers from China have been eyeing prospects in Essex.
Representatives from Nantong Hongbo Wind Power Equipment Co and Jiangsu Tongguang Photoelectron Company (JTPC) the area in southern England with a view to investing in the production of offshore wind farm equipment in the area.
They were joined by a representative of the Nantong Bureau of Commerce.
The visit was organised by Essex County Council’s international trade team as part of a series of business events with the Chinese aimed at creating new export and inward investment opportunities, leading to job creation in the county
The delegation visited the London Gateway Port, Thurrock, to look at the opportunities that the deep-sea container port, currently still in construction, could offer.
It follows a visit to Harwich International Port, due to play a key role in the development of offshore wind farms around the coast of East Anglia.
Both companies are from the Chinese province of Jiangsu, a focal point for the Chinese offshore wind energy industry.
