Aberdeen-based Maritime Assurance and Consulting (MAC) said yesterday it had moved into the renewables sector after winning a contract with wave-energy specialist AWS Ocean Energy.
Under the deal, worth about £170,000, MAC will design a test rig for AWS as part of the Inverness firm’s plans to accelerate the development of its wavepower technology.
MAC said it had also won contracts worth a combined £230,000 recently for its core business – marine and dynamic-positioning assurance and consulting – with clients including Technip and Oceaneering.
