THIEVES stole more than £10,000 of diesel and metal from a north-east windfarm at the weekend.
Police are appealing for information about the incident at Rosarie Windfarm, in the Mulben area of Moray.
The thieves struck overnight on Friday. A large quantity of diesel, as well as aluminium supports used in the construction of the wind turbines, was taken.
A silver Ivor Williams trailer was also stolen from the site along with numerous other tools.
Investigating officer, constable Robert Collie, said: “I would ask people in our rural communities to be aware of unfamiliar vehicles and persons acting suspiciously and to report their concerns to the police.”
Officers would like to speak to anyone with information about a diesel spill that was found on the Keith to Newmill road at about 9am on Saturday, or any suspicious people or vehicles seen in the area around the time of the thefts.
