Renewable-energy firms developing marine and tidal projects in Scotland have been urged to apply for government funding.
The Scottish Government has launched the second round of its Wave and Tidal Energy, Research, Development and Demonstration Support fund (Waters) and has made £6million available to help companies take projects to market.
The Waters scheme was established by the government alongside Scottish Enterprise and Highlands and Islands Enterprise (HIE).
Meanwhile, marine energy developers have been given the opportunity to use test facilities in Orkney for free. Global marine research organisation Marinet has offered to cover the costs of access for companies based outwith the UK.
