A boss at DNV GL says the company’s latest Energy Transition Outlook shows how the energy system has been changed by the pandemic.
DNV GL’s head of energy transition believes the global energy system has been fundamentally changed by the coronavirus pandemic.
Graham Bennett thinks there could be an 8% decline in overall energy demand up to 2050 as the structural changes caused by Covid-19 affect consumption.
Mr Bennett also believes the energy industry must work harder to decarbonise the production of hydrocarbons, which the Earth will continue to need up until 2050.
DNV GL is a Principal Partner of our Energy Transition Idea Exchange (ETIDEX) event on November 19, where Graham Bennett will join a panel including speakers from Petrofac, the OGA, the WBSCD and the EIC to discuss Hydrogen and CCUS.
