The head of Equinor’s UK renewable operations has announced he is leaving the company after more than a decade.
Stephen Bull will join Norwegian offshore engineering firm Aker Solutions’ as executive vice president for the renewables division this summer.
Mr Bull took up the position of senior vice president for Equinor’s North Sea region in February last year.
Prior to that he was the firm’s senior vice president for wind and low carbon development.
Over the last few years Equinor has made huge strides in offshore renewables, including the development of the Hywind Scotland floating offshore wind farm off the coast of Peterhead.
Mr Bull is also the chairman of trade and professional body RenewableUK after taking over from Julian Brown in 2018.
In a post on his LinkedIn page, Mr Bull said: “After 13 fantastic years in Equinor, I have taken the decision to pursue opportunities outside the company.
“This summer, I will be joining Aker Solutions as Executive Vice President for the Renewables division.
“The past five years especially stand out for me in Equinor, with the immense privilege in contributing to building Equinor’s New Energy Solutions into a major business area with an extremely exciting growth platform.
“It’s the people, values and foresight that makes this all happen, and I will deeply miss wonderful colleagues. I look forward to exciting, new opportunities in Aker Solutions and continue to drive the energy transition.”
