Dunfermline energy developer Burcote Wind has submitted a planning application for a four-turbine windfarm near Huntly to Aberdeenshire Council.
Revised plans for the scheme, reducing the number of structures planned at proposed rural site at Meikleton from five to four, were put on show to local residents at Cairnie and Huntly earlier this year. The proposals now put to planners are for four 361ft turbines.
Given planning consent, the energy firm has pledged to establish a community benefit fund worth £5,000 per MW to benefit local groups and projects, which would create a community windfall of £60,000 a year or £1.5million over the 25-year lifetime of the windfarm.
