Redcar’s offshore windfarm is sending its first power ashore, 15 months after construction work began.
Three wind turbine generators at the EDF Energy Renewables Teesside offshore development have now been fully commissioned and are supplying electricity to the National Grid.
So far, 18 of the 2.3MW Siemens turbines have been fully installed using the MPI Adventure jack-up vessel, operating out of Port of Hartlepool.
Once complete, the 27-turbine windfarm will be able to generate up to 62MW of electricity.
