Saorgus Energy has applied for a foreshore licence to build a 520MW, 145-turbine windfarm off the east Irish coast, adjacent to Dublin.
The Dublin Array is one of three windfarms proposed offshore the Dublin-Wicklow coast. The other two are the Codling Bank and Arklow Bank projects. All three have foreshore licences.
Saorgus hopes the farm can be operational by 2016 and be in a position to export power to the UK.
