Technip has landed a £4.2million contract for front-end engineering and design of a new biomass-to-liquid plant in Finland.
The project management firm will handle the development of the second generation plant, which will be built on Ajos island, for Forest BtL Oy.
Technip will develop the process design package for the plant’s hydrogen production unit and prepare the FEED for the hydrogen production, Fischer-Tropsch synthesis and refining unit from its main centre in France and technology facility in Zoetermeer.
Work on the EU5million contract for the plant, which will produce an estimated 140,000 tons of biodiesel and naptha from wood and wood-processing by-products, is due to be completed by early 2014
