Scottish renewable energy consultancy SgurrEnergy says it has agreed a deal to provide advice and support for the first offshore wind farm in China’s Guangdong province.
The Wood Group subsidiary will advise on areas such as layout, site selection and design and will conduct an environmental impact assessment for Guangdong Electric Power Design Institute’s project.
The deal follows on from the Glasgow-based firm’s involvement in the Jangsu offshore project.
“The support of SgurrEnergy and Wood Group Kenny, with their extensive experience in offshore wind, combined with our local experience in typhoon and soft seabed issues, is helping GEDI to address the engineering and technical challenges involved in offshore wind development in the region,” said GEDI’s Dr. Wang Hailong.
