Japanese engineering company Chiyoda and Indonesian national oil company Pertamina will jointly study the development and application of carbon capture, utilisation and storage (CCUS) technology after signing a memorandum of understanding (MoU).
The MOU, aiming to provide solutions to climate change and realise a low carbon society, was signed on 18 January 2022 during the B20 Task Force on Energy, Sustainability and Climate, Chiyoda said last week.
Chiyoda and Pertamina have agreed to support emission reductions through the development of new and renewable energy, as well as to achieve net-zero emissions and promote climate goals and to collaborate on CCUS technology application studies and hydrogen production.
Chiyoda has supplied services to Pertamina since the early 1980s, including the EPC of LNG plants across Indonesia.
