Japanese engineering company JGC and Indonesia’s national energy company Pertamina said they will study prospective joint projects in the decarbonisation business field after signing a memorandum of understanding (MoU).
“Under the MOU, together with Pertamina, we will conduct a joint study aiming at future commercialisation and consider a wide range of joint projects in the decarbonising business field. In doing so, we will draw on our accumulated knowledge and technologies in such fields as hydrogen, ammonia, CCUS, and biogas,” said JGC.
JGC has carried out engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) projects in Indonesia for Pertamina in the oil and gas sector since the 1980s. In June 2021, JGC concluded a Gundih carbon capture and storage (CCS) joint study contract with five companies, including Pertamina.
