Turbine maker Repower Systems has landed a deal to provide 58megawatts of turbines for four wind farms in the UK – including the Clashindarroch project in Aberdeenshire.
The Suzlon Group-owned manufacturer will provide turbines for four new windfarms across the country, including sites in Suffolk, Yorkshire and Cumbira.
They will provide 18 turbines for the £50million Vattenfall-developed Clashindarroch Forest wind farm near Huntly, which is due for completion in March 2015.
The value of the deal has not been disclosed.
“I am delighted to announce the closure of four new UK contracts,” said Repower Systems chief executive Andreas Nauen.
“We are particularly delighted to continue our working partnerships with Vattenfall, Broadview Energy and Temporis Capital, as well as signing our first contract with Good Energy with whom we look forward to working with in 2013 and beyond.”
The 37MW development, which will power around 20,000 homes, was approved by Aberdeenshire Council in December 2010 after years of planning disputes.
Repower will also provide two turbines for the Eye Airfield windfarm in Suffolk, four for Yorkshire’s Hampole windfarm and three for the Westnewton farm in Cumbria.
