Plans to build a solar farm in Scotland able to produce power for more than 5,000 homes have been revealed.
Elgin Energy are looking to launch the project, which would see 70,000 solar panels being deployed over a 100 acre site at Carse of Gowrie, between Perth and Dundee.
Plans for the site, owned by the Errol Estate, go on display for local residents today at a public exhibition, ahead of a planning application being made.
The multi-million pound project, which has a lifespan of around 25 years, would see the land being turned to its original condition after completion, the project’s developers claimed.
Earlier this year Aberdeen City Council announced plans for a 120 acre former landfill site at Ness Farm, near Nigg Bay, into a major solar farm.
