Renewable energy consultancy SgurrEnergy is to launch a new technology arm after snapping up a wind control systems firm.
The Wood Group subsidiary is to rebrand the former StrathControl as SgurrControl as it looks to enter the control systems market for wind and tidal turbines.
The new arm will be based in the inovo building in Glasgow, and will focus on providing commercial, cost-effective solutions for turbine producers and windfarm owners.
“We are delighted to join forces with SgurrEnergy,” said director David Robb.
“Aligning our range of advanced control products and services with SgurrEnergy’s acknowledged position and strong reputation in the renewable energy sector, places our combined business in a unique position to lower the life cycle cost of energy production, a key objective for the renewables industry.”
