Wood Group GTS has completed a £1.2million maintenance contract in Jamaica.
The gas turbines arm of Aberdeen-based Wood Group carried out a hot gas path inspection, along with providing parts and repairs for the Jamaica Public Service Company’s Bogue Power Plant, in Montego Bay, Jamaica.
Wood Group GTS also supplied its EcoValue compressor water wash technology to JPS for use in two GE Frame 6B gas turbines.
It is hoped the technology will increase the efficiency of the combined cycle power plant.
“The completion of this hot gas path inspection in only nine days was the fastest JPS has ever seen performed on our unit,” said station manager Ruben Thomas.
“We are confident that the compressor water wash technology will improve the gas turbine efficiency and generate a rapid return on our investment.”
Wood Group GTS president Frank Avery said: “The success of this outage affirms our commitment to service excellence and helping our customers meet their performance needs.”
