Cable protection firm Tekmar is to support a major offshore windfarm project in Holland after landing a trio of contracts.
The County Dirham-based firm, which produces protection systems for cables in the oil and gas and renewable, will supply its systems to Van Oord Offshore for the Eneco Luchterduinen.
The 43-turbine North Sea project, around 23km off the Dutch Coast, will produce enough electricity for around 150,000 homes.
“We are glad with this next step in the preparation for the offshore works for the Eneco Luchterduinen wind farm, which is about to start in June 2014,” said Van Oord proejct manager Wilbert van Boldrik.
“We look forward to a fruitful co-operation with Tekmar which we selected to supply the cable protection systems.”
It marks the third project Tekmar and Van Oord have collaborated on, with the Luchterduinen scheme seeing Tekmar providing 87 cable protection systems and 25-year lifespan engineering.
