Renewable energy firm RWE is to drop the Npower name from its UK brand as it brings its British operations into line with its European wind projects.
The company is to rebrand to RWE Innogy, after six years of using the npower brand.
“The change of name is in response to a number of factors, which includes feedback from external stakeholders,” said chief executive Hans Bünting.
“The re-naming will further help to underline and reinforce the identity of RWE Group’s renewable energy division.”
The German-owned firm, which has 10 wind projects and a clutch of hydro power schemes in Scotland, employs around 400 people across the UK.
