Scots green power consultancy SgurrEnergy has kicked off plans for international expansion after opening an office in South Africa.
The new base, in Johannesburg, comes in the wake of offices being opened in Brazil, Norway and Germany as the firm extends a three-year plan of international and domestic growth.
The permanent office comes in the wake of two years of operations in the African country, which the Wood Group-owned firm is looking to use as a launchpad to increase its presence across the rest of the continent.
“The launch of this office in Johannesburg will allow SgurrEnergy to take advantage of South Africa as a renewable energy business hub, given its abundant wind and solar resources,” said the company’s business development manager Solly Malema.
“We are excited about the growth prospects that this development brings in one of Africa’s largest economies and we look forward to offering our capabilities to South Africa’s renewable energy industry.”
