UK renewable energy developer Infinis Energy says construction of two onshore Scots wind projects is likely to start later this year.
The firm, which operates biogas, wind and hydro schemes across the country, says pre-construction work for two Scots projects is under way.
Infinis says the 43MW A’Chruach scheme in Argyll and the 55MW Galawhistle scheme in South Lanarkshire are in line with project development plans.
“We anticipate appointing contractors for A’Chruach in the second half of 2014,” said Infinis.
The firm said it does not expect the recently set renewables strike prices to alter its plans.
“As management intends to deliver the 130-150MW of new organic onshore wind capacity under the RO regime, we believe that the announced final CfD strike prices are relevant for other projects that Infinis aims to deliver after March 2017, when the RO regime will no longer be open for new installations,” the company said.
Infinis reported a ‘robust operational performance’ in the three months from October 1, 2013.
It said onshore wind had benefited from strong winter winds, while the hydro business is benefiting from investments made during the summer to improve plant reliability and water intake.
In the biogas business, the firm reported good output across its larger sites and satisfactory levels across the rest of the portfolio.
