Sir Richard Branson has joined the list of speakers for this year’s All Energy 2014 programme.
The successful entrepreneur will be patched into the UK’s largest renewable energy exhibition via Skype from his luxury Necker Island base.
His virtual presentation will come on air following the ‘Investing in the future-innovation’ session, which will examine the offshore wind sector.
“Sir Richard may not be directly involved with offshore wind, but the fact that this session is being chaired by Calum Davidson, Highland and Islands Enterprise’s Director of Energy and Low Carbon was the deciding factor,” said Judith Patten, All-Energy’s Conference director.
“The work on island energy systems undertaken by Sir Richard and The Carbon War Room makes Calum’s involvement particularly relevant.”
Earlier this week Sir Richard announced the line-up for his Formula E team, competing later this year.
Formula E, launching in September, aims to improve the image of electric cars and spark innovation in the industry.
The entrepreneur’s involvement in the green racing series marks the return of his Virgin Racing brand into international motor-sport.
