Vergnet revealed it will launch a new operations and maintenance (O&M) service aimed at the UK market.
The firm, which specialises in renewable energies in challenging environments, confirmed the announcement at this year’s All-Energy conference.
Vergnet, which is headquartered in France, said the move was motivated by a series of UK contract wins.
Vergnet’s UK spokeswoman, Diana Popa, said: “Effective O&M services are an extremely important consideration for developers of medium wind projects and the right service will help to manage costs, reduce downtime and maximise profit throughout the lifetime of the project.
“Vergnet has always been committed to offering a full package of O&M services for all our projects, this next step of opening a dedicated service in the UK allows us to deliver this service in closer proximity to a growing number of turbines sited throughout the UK.”
Vergnet also has bases in the Caribbean, the Pacific and Africa.
Its core business is made-up of three distinct strands – wind turbine design and production, water supply in Africa and photovoltaic solar energy.
It has installed more than 900 wind turbines and supplied water to more than 50 million people worldwide.
