Advanced Plasma Power (APP), a UK waste-to-energy developer, received a £20million order to provide its technology to a project in Canada.
The facility is being built for Port Fuels & Materials at the port of Hamilton in Ontario and it will have capacity of 20MW, APP said in a statement. It will use waste to generate power.
Ontario produces about 13million metric tons of commercial and municipal waste a year, the statement said.
APP’s facility, which is still subject to regulatory approval, will process about 170,000 tons a year, delivering power to the Canadian electricity grid, it said.
